Look at those happy little crafters! My lovely friend Sam and I had such a fun evening crafting at The Crafteria on Wednesday night this week. I was so excited when Diana got in touch with me to tell me about the event being held at her very owly workplace.
I was pretty much exhausted but the opportunity to get crafty just couldn't be missed. I walked in and the place was buzzing with activity and the tables were covered with awesome craft supplies. My eyes were immediately drawn to a pile of yarn and I decided to get my pom pom on. It was fun to teach some folks how to make their very first pom poms. I also loved that they went on to pass on the pom pom love and taught others. Lets cover the world in pom poms!
Over time I developed a nice little pile of yarn trimmings that were too pretty to just throw away. While I was pondering what to do with them I spotted some jars and a light bulb went on in my head as I pictured those weird jars filled with layers of sand. I layered the yarn and it became the "soil" in a little terrarium with air plants from home. My pom poms have gone on to be strung together into a cute cuddly necklace. Watch this totally adorable video of the night here.
I actually met Sam and Diana when we just happened to sit next to each other at last years Etsy Craft Party. I went to that party all on my little old lonesome and walked out having met some really fantastic ladies. Events like these are just so rad because I love the opportunity to meet other crafty souls and to also just explore and play.
