Dear Blob,

Papergirl Vancouver is in full swing! If you are asking yourself "What the heck is Papergirl?" then check out this post by Vancouver is Awesome and all your questions will be answered! It's my second year as a member of the Papergirl team and I am so excited about what we have coming up.

The Artist Interview Series is back! I so enjoyed tagging along with Julie last year as she interviewed and photographed some of the amazing artists that contribute to Papergirl and I am thrilled that the series is back again this year. The contributing artists have much more to offer than their beautiful works of art, and Papergirl wants to interview them to learn about who they are, their artistic process, and thoughts about the role of artists in helping to build community. The submission deadline is May 1st so click-aty-click here to apply

Have you ever done any photography without cameras? At the Papergirl "Photography without Cameras: Lumen Printing Workshop" you can give it a go. Artist Phyllis Schwartz is going to guide this hands-on 2 part workshop, the lumen print (photographs made without a camera) image making process will be demonstrated. There will be an opportunity to participate in the entire process beginning with composition in the first workshop and the development process in the second workshop. Participants will have an opportunity to process three fibre prints. Registration for the workshops can be made online here

Ooooh and one last bit of Papergirl news for now we are accepting submissions again! Get your art in before the June 26th deadline. I'm certainly thinking about what my submissions will be too.

Love, Tara
